Very nice Eickhorn. Could I ask you to post a close-up photo of the mark on the lower crossguard?

Very nice Eick student leader, well conditioned & as mentioned, rare. Really needs a nice period frog

            Ron,

            Looks like PL 31.

Billy, not a student leader. ALL Eickhorn Student Daggers had a grip eagle. This is just a student dagger by Eickhorn. Only Burgsmuller was sans grip eagle in the student form. Eickhorn was late to the table on manufacturing NPEA Daggers and all the early student daggers from the first schools were Burgsmullers.

Ron, couldn´t it also be a leader dagger worn in the "field scabbard"? As you mentioned, all Eickhorn daggers had the eagle, no matter if leader or student.
Can you help me with that matter?

I´ll post better pictures of the mark in the evening!

Yes, that would be a "possible combination, but if that were the case where is the frog and some frog wear? I don't see any. I really need to see a close up of the number as this PL31? would have been an early issue at an early school and that no. would have been on a Burgsmuller IMO. It "might" be a replacement for a graduation dagger, but need to see the fonts to be sure.

There is light frog wear(see picture), I can´t tell where the frog itself is, but if anyone has to sell a nice one, please tell me

Ron, here is a better picture of the number.
