    Find today

I would post my finds more often but last couple of times I was very busy and I did not have time to do it. But today I was lucky so I wanted to shape what I found. All nice pieces, but I have question about fighting knife/HJ. You can see at one time it had HJ insignia on it, but it is gone now. You can still see a shadow where it was. Did anybody saw something like this before? It almost looks like an HJ member reused his HJ scabbard and put a fighting knife in it. The knife fits great inside of it and it would not come out while you wear it.
And also the sword on the top, did anybody saw it before also? It is well made, and by the construction of the handle and blade I would say German, but for what and who I do not know.

    Thank you for looking.

    regards RD

The handle doesn't appear faked to me, the emblems are attached to the handle on the inside , and appears like the keeper popped off , or maybe was removed , but isn't recessed or show signs of being pried off.The emblem may have been a shallower version, and has the same type set up as the regular youth knives have.... I think it looks very possibly original ,may have been a private purchase option where the original person purchased it...but did the seller have any information on where they purchased or came by it , when you were considering buying it? Sometimes their stories have credence. If someone faked this one, they sure did a fine job milling the handle , and the quality of workmanship seems up to standard . So I like it...others may have their own opinions .The shape of the blade has a close resemblance to the USN survival knife....so...do you see any markings near the hilt on the blade? What are the lengths, and widths of the blade regarding dimentions to compare to the navy blades that are always usually parkerized. maybe those dimentions compared to the navy blade can rule it out or in....but still looks like it was done many years ago.....

In #2, #3 and #4 you can see a Wehrmacht standard fighting knife, together with the sheath of an Hitler-Jugend Fahrtenmesser.

If the hanger of the sheath is era-made, I cannot say for sure ...

Also the grip plates of the knife could have been replaced, notice the pretty blank rivets without any aging ...
If there was the diamond inserted pre 1945 I cannot say also, maybe Bubba did this, to make the knife more valuable ? ...

knife grip looks well made, normally you can see when it is put together. Belt loop is original to the scabbard I had some before with that kind of loop.
