While searching the posts here I found a few on this type Krupp dagger. The general consensus seems to be they are fantasy pieces from Poland while a few say the jury is still out.The last post I found here was in 2008. Has there been any new findings on these daggers one way or another? I bought it as a fantasy piece at a very low price from a private collection of daggers and swords that came from a private sale from Germany just because it was different. The collection that it came from were all original WW2 German daggers and swords but the buyer here in the States said he thought this dagger was not and he bought it as such in the group.

I personally believe these to be fantasy daggers. The bottom line is that they have no value because no serious collector would buy one of them for anything other than a letter opener or as a conversation piece.Comment

DR, I think that what you have is one of the earlier U.S. made (IMO) versions from 30 (?) or so years ago. Of course like some other fakes of fakes there are some later versions that were made as well. Poland (?) maybe they might be making some there now - who knows?? With my "favorite" version being the 'SS-Modell'
. Most of which I think can be seen on the GDC links. With my thanks to Rheingold for researching and putting them up.
