Agisan, Very cool knife you have, knife itself looks to to be pre-45 Klaas, have to wait on comments on the SS inscriptions from those that are educated on that stuff.. very nice selection of daggers this shop had! How long ago did you take these pictures? I wonder what the chances are of the Puma Naval "Assault dagger" (in your second picture) being original!?? Kevin.

Kevin, thank you for the answer.
If to be exact, pictures are made in day of purchase, and it is August, 2010. During that moment all my attention was directed on this knife of the 6th mountain division. On this show-window there was a small part of items, the main things were in shop in the closed show-windows. Also there were exclusive and unique things. The seller gave a guarantee on authenticity of a Knife Gebirgs Division "Nord". The cost of this mountain knife was considerably higher than the cost of Wehrmacht officers dagger, but I do not regret it, because this thing really like to me.

Can you please share your reasoning? If you have seen this type please give me the link, very interesting to compare.

It’s very regrettable especially because of the price that was paid. But I’m going to have to agree with Reibert that this is just one of some “Nord” fakes (IMO) that I’ve seen over the years. I think that I still have some notes from past discussions - but that will require some looking. FP

I still need to find my original notes, but here are some items that address different aspects of the topic which I’m trying to address as briefly as possible: COA’s can (and do) mean absolutely nothing unless there is something to back them up: http://forum.axishistory.com/viewtop...?f=21&t=187838 Likewise, being a dealer having a business in Germany can mean the same thing - nothing: http://70.87.163.50/forums/showthrea...583316&page=10

The same type (also DRGM marked) knife was legitimately made much earlier (WW I) using a brand name that has no known connection to Klaas. With the recorded Klaas TM’s looking different. The milled blade/finish (etc.). And I was going to post some "SS-pantograph” knives here to show some similarities. But was fortunate enough to find some pictures of one of these knives in as newly made condition from about 10 years ago that were for sale on eBay for $30.00 or $40.00 dollars(? ). BTW: The number "6." was actually attached to the division's name rather late in October of 1943. With the division itself being one of the largest users of ex-Czech weapons which brings up some other side issues. FP

That's a scary looking shop. probably OK to buy a book.

Oh, yea...they got a Puma Naval Assualt dagger.
