RAD Officer Dagger Replacement Grips... (help)

Hello Group...

I have a fine RAD Officer Dagger (Paul Seilheimer - Solingen) that is in serious need of a restored or original replacement grip plate. The back plate is fine, but the facing plate (w/o screw) is pitifully fractured (behind, where the seam meets).

Are there any RAD (or edged weapon) collectors out there who might share their guidence or insights on what I can do to aquire replacements or restoration? I contacted Tom Johnson, & he graciously told me that it would cost approx $200.00 to restore (gulp)!

It's been a surprisingly difficult journey....

These grips can be restored to where the repair is virtually undetectable. Don Swanson used to be the miriacle man, but I haven't seen him in a for awhile. You could also try Vern Bryant on the GD forum. Having seen professional restoration on some of these RAD grips, if you get the right guy, you'll be impressed. Unfortunately, professional restoration isn't cheap.
