Eickhorn long police bayo - full rig - in minty condition

I wanted to share my latest haul with you guys!

Nice long police bayo by Eickhorn, correctly marked on blade and scabbard, with both - numbers and unit mark. The overall conditions is above standard, the scabbard leather is still in great condition, so is the blade.

It comes with nice marked frog as well - H. Mueller Stuttgart - and also the unit marking, which here would be: PS

Can someone enlighten me what this unit stands for and if the portapee is matching this?

Thanks for your support - enjoy the pictures!

P.S. stands for Polizeischule, this bayonet was an issued item at a particular police school. Since the letters have been removed we don't know which one though, sadly. Many Eickhorns were issued at Polizeischulen.

Polizeischule Sensburg in East Prussia. Is the weapon number readable on the scabbard?

                        Hello Billy,

                        thanks for your input!

At what point was there something removed? I do quite seem to miss that spot on the rig ...

                        Hello donmaus,

thanks - I guess you can read the number 576 on the scabbard as seen on the attached picture.

Or do you mean any other number?

                        Thanks!

                          Kev,

In the picture that shows the reverse crossguard you'll note "P.S." & what appears to be another digit. Possibly it was buffed out when the bayonet was used elsewhere, this was somewhat of a common practice as we sometimes see letters x'ed out & restamped or just buffed out. I think that's what happened here. Looks like the numbers on the blade spine & scabbard throat may be the second set of inventory numbers.

Not sure what I was thinking when I didn't get that this bayonet was from the Polizeischule at Sensburg. Maybe lack of coffee?

The inventory number 576 was assigned after the blade and scabbard had been shortened. The number I am wondering about is the one that followed the P.S. It has been scrubbed from the crossguard but I wonder if it survived on the scabbard?
