Portepee question

I have bought this Portepee with a K98 Bayonet with matching numbers (177G - 9823A)

Does anyone know at which units of the German forces this was used?

Any valuation of the items in this condition is appreciated too

No need for more pictures. George Wheeler's "Seitengewehr" identifies it as both an early Bahnschutz knot or SS Einheits knot.

Thanks for the information, I paid about Euro 170,- for it including the bayonet etc

First time I encountered this one online and coulnd't find too much information about the Portepee.

No, not common at all. Despite the fraying, E170 is pretty good for that knot & the bayonet. Nice pickup!

the guy said it was a forestry portapee.
i made sure he knew what he had

i have found similar portapee's
or troddels in same or better condition for around $350-$300
i dont know how accurate this is but
i believe it is a ss-vt troddel for a dagger.
this price was found comparing 4 similar troddels.

any comments or criticisms would be helpful.
