Stephen, i dont think it would be a period done re-paint but most likely a recent job to tidy up the scabbard, it will affect its value a little imo.

a hands on inspection would be needed to see if its a 100% re-paint

ask the seller about the repaint!!

I asked the seller about the scabbard and he claims everything is 100% original (but his English isn't that great).
This is the last question, I promise.
Taking everything into account, including the possible repaint, what would be a fair price for a dagger like this?
