Hey all

Here is an early 55cm DLV. Veteran acquired in Gloucester, Mass about 12 years ago, just "rediscovered" while thinning out the dagger collection. Bought it at an auction of the estate contents, under-bidder wanted to know why I spent $395 on a first model Luft! Has nickel silvered mounts, early small double-oval Eickhorn trademark. Inset Swaz. on the quillion and pommell seem to be hand done. Never cleaned, exactly as it was found in the house. Any thoughts???

Congratulations to a great purchase. A good dagger for the nice price. This version of the DLV55 dagger in my opinion more beautiful and rarest other type.

I had this one also for a bit...Mine is missing the scabbard unfortunately but its the EARLY eick style....truly a Fascinating Dagger and IMHO WAY undervalued.

very nice - and yes, I agree - way undervalued for the rarity. still think these were engraved by hand - check out the differences in the swaz. on the quillions of the two. the one on mine is even a little off-center! thanks for posting it - and hopefully a scabbard will turn up someday
