    Best bayonet Book ?.....

    hi all,

can anyone advise the best book to get regarding german bayonets ? have a few to consider - anthony carter - german ersatz bayonets, klaus lubbe's german sidearms and bayonets 1740-1945... looking for a book that covers mainly ww1/ww2 german bayonets and their markings.

    cheers,

"The German bayonet: A comprehensive illustrated history of the regulation patterns, 1871-1945" by John Walter

I have it and it is very descriptive and detailed of WWI German bayonets, not much on ersatz though.

What would be the best book for German K98 bayonets of WW2?

I would have to agree with Brenig, George Wheeler's "Seitengewehr" is an excellent tome dealing with all types of German bayonets,
