Gustav Spitzer, HJ Knife with motto.

    Hi Guys,

I thought I would post my Gustav Spitzer, HJ Knife with motto to see how you like it. Evil Mike posted this knife for me a couple of years ago so I thought I would post some more pics now that I have posting rights.

I have taken many shots of this knife but I will keep it brief and concentrate on the knife rather than the scabbard.

I hope you like it any comments greatfully received.

    Cheers,

    Thomas.

Re, mm Gustav Spitzer HJ knife.

            Hi Kevin.

There is no mm on reverse side of blade just the acid etched RZM.

I was informed that only two manufacturers notably this one Gustav Spitzer and Anton Wenger acid etched marked thier HJ knifes like this in this particular time period.

I was also informed that this combination of acid etched RZM mark and blades with motto are uncommon, as acid etched mm were slightly later when production of blades with motto ceased, I hope this makes sense.

            Cheers,

            Thomas.

Thomas, now that is a hard combination to find with Ink stamped RZM mark on the same side as the Acid etched motto

thanks for showing us your hj knife by Gustav Spitzer

This knife looks fine from what is shown in the pictures, though it is always good to see some photos which show the complete knife from both its sides before judging it.

2 corrections need to be made to the reply posts:

                    - This is not an "ink stamped" RZM mark, that is something completely different.

                    - There are several other makers (not just Anton Wingen JR) that used etched marks on their HJ knifes, amoung them is also Eickhorn.

                    Best regards,

                    Victorman

Victorman, what is the way the RZM stamp is applied?, heres me thinking it was an Ink stamp like we see on late war hj knifes that usually ware away leaving an unmarked blade.

                            Hi Guys,

Many thanks for the comments, I always wanted to own just one of these so it had to be an early type and in nice condition with motto.
