    Two K98 bayonets with questions

I would appreciate to get opinions about these 2 bayonets. Both are from the same maker (J.Sch. = Jetter & Scheerer).

Here´s #1. My questions refers to the canvas frog. Original or fantasy piece? The bayonet itself is good with matching numbers. Only the frog makes me feel to be a repro.

              Here´s #2.

The issue refers to the scabbard. New numbers have been stamped over the original ones onto the scabbard to match the bayonet. Period or fake?

Nice pieces, i personally dont believe the web frog is origin, same as it have a ink stamp, is this readable? it could be some field repair, but certainly not made from a proper web frog. The second one could be ok, i personally believe the bayonet has too other number and it could be a rework in war, forced together with new numbers, anyway the numbers on scabbard are larger as the factory ones, so probably not done in factory.

On the scabbard should be writen J. Sch/1937.
I do not like the look of number 8.

Sorry, but S/245 is correct, as the change from S/245 to J.Sch. was done in the a or b series of 1937.

Thanks, Andy. Unfortunately I can´t decipher the stamp on the canvas frog.

I do not like it anyway.
