Etched dagger - does this suck ?

    Hi

I must admit that ain't too fond of this eagle. The sharp curves around the eagles head looks like it was made yesterday.

On the other hand there IS a bit of rust present. But that would be easy to fabricate.

    What do you think ?

    Thanks

This etch looks a lot like the one on page 101 of Techet's book and is a variation Klaas wide eagle etch with added oak leaves on an Anton Wingen marked bayonet.

Who is the maker for this blade?

While the eagle head looks a little funky to me, too, one strike in etching isn't out. If the blade maker is one that normally purchased their etches from Klaas, I would be inclined to give this a thumbs up.

I'm sorry I didn't write that it is a Herder bayo.

I would like to add that it looks like the eagle etc. is "lifted". Almost like everything around the eagle etc. has been "deepened" / laser cut.

Well Wayne Techet does mention that Klaas worked with firms such as Herder, Carl Krebs, And Anton Wingen.

And, Herder did buy their etches from Klaas.

                    Good find.
