Daggers are not my collecting field but I have just received this Army Dagger out of the woodwork today.
The dagger has a beautiful patina to it and comes complete with its hangers and knot. The blade has a covering of old grease or Vaseline on it but still keeps its needle point.
Regarding the maker of the dagger, it has the trade mark of A. SCHUTTELHOFER & Co.
The questions that I am asking are:
- is this a real dagger?
- is the maker of the dagger a rare manufacturer?
- and what era would the dagger have been manufactured pre war or later?
Hope someone can help.
Many thanks,
Gareth
