Hi with ref; to John Walter's book "The sword and bayonet makers of Imperial germany 1871-1918" one of the Solingen firms that made a few bayonets in WW1(C. Galle 1914-1917) the company cannot be traced through the Industrie und Handelskammer zu Solingen and that it most likely ceased trading during the Weimar republic. It was thought that the firm bought bayonet blanks from another source as the concerns stampings occur in conjunction with those of other Solingen firms. Now the other stamp Walter &cie seems to have been a retailer of the products bearing the companys name, for most of the edged weapons handled by Walter have also bourne the name of a better known cutlery firm usually F.Herder & Sohn of Solingen.Johnvery nice bayonet by the way.
