SS Police Officer Degen with etched blade

Hi all,
Just thought I'd share my latest purchase with you guys.
I've been searching for one of these for many years and finally one came up for sale directly from the vets family - never before been in collectors hands.
This degen is a WKC Police Officers sword with SS knot, engraved SS pommel nut and the cherry on the cake is the etched Meine Ehre Heisst Treue on the blade!
Wittmann's book mentions that this combination of factory options were super rare. Enjoy.

Well: This example certainly falls into the "ne plus ultra" category of police swords. I'm sure that if Wittmann ever does an update to his SS volume this one will make it in there.

I've found out that the original owner was sent to the Balkans to fight the partisans
and was KIA - Maybe this officer was in the Polizei Division..
I'm not totaly sure why the etching was ordered on the blade, but it makes it just that little more desirable. Either way, this swords a keeper

Beautiful condition. The eagle still has its silver coat. Or is it aluminum?

Can you share the name? Some of us have SS/Pol Division unit histories with names of KIAs. Or at the least, you can find him in the SS Officer files where his will reveal his police and Waffen SS service.

Yes, I think our swords are closely related
These swords with the SS embellished pommel nuts are super rare - I only know of
6 examples including yours. Do you have any history on your sword?
