Police Weimar bayo question

Gentlemen,

I was offered this bayo but was somewhat concerned about the clamshell.
The thing that bothers me is the fact that there is a small space gap between the crossguard and the clamshell as shown in the pic.

The space gap is less than 1 cm but it allows the clamshell to move up and down slightly.
My question is, would that affect its overall value or am I being too picky.

Everything else is real nice.

Pat, It's a common problem with those clamshells. Spacer or buffer.
In my view it does effect any edged weapons value when parts are loose fitting.
Depends how loose, a little OK, ratteling loose, no.

Pat:

I have 4 police clamshells in my collection and none of the clamshells wiggle. Neither do the clamshells on my Hunting, Forestry daggers (of course, they are all Eickhorns).

It would have to be a pretty rare maker mark for me to accept a wiggling clamshell into my collection.
