    SS dagger by Eickhorn

    Hi,

I was offered this dagger. The pictures are mediocre but the main tell tale signs look Ok to me. Marking seems appropriate, etching as well. The only thing that seems weird is the polished looking parts on the sheath. Could those have been exchanged, or maybe just polished? I am going to look at it in person soon, so I just wanted to see if there is anything that really stands out to you, or what I could look at, when inspecting it.

    Any opinions are highly appreciated!

    Thanks and best regards,
    Os.

Without having it in hand it seems okay to me.

Usually you need a good close up of the motto as well of the TM.
The pics are terrible ,but the motto pattern looks ok for this RZM-type.
          Are the crossguards plated ?
Regarding the scabbard fittings,it appears polished or replaced.
What about the surface of the scabbard .Painted?

            Thank you for your comments!

I believe the crossguards are plated as there are tiny bubbles, which indicates the nickel plating I guess.

Should the scabbard fittings be plated on this model as well? The sheath should be blued steel, right? So no lacquer.

Usually, these 941 are equipped with nickel silver guards and eagle, while the tang nut and scabbard fittings are plated. A painted scabbard and the "Original" above the squirrel.

              This is a common "combination"

Sorry, but these 941/38 came, without any doubt, with plated crossguards.

I see nothing wrong with this dagger.

From what I can see I would not say its a parts dagger.

IMO: This dagger is a textbook "No Original" 941 38 Eickhorn dagger. Plated fittings and a painted scabbard are typical.
The scabbard hanger attachment is a bit funky though!

Roger on the strap, but the rest looks OK. FP

I don't say and don't think that this piece is a parts dagger.

                              I wouldn't buy it, without better pic's.

I know there are a few different "combinations"out there. But my statement were in regards to the most common with"Original"
A few fellows of mine owns a couple of these, but with the "combo" i've stated below.

                              Regards,
