    Miniature Question: Luftwaffe

Strange thing ... I got this miniature in the other day, and was preparing to list it for the upcoming January auction, when I noticed that "Preusse" was spelled with an F (Prfusse). Was wondering what people thought of this? The etch is extraordinary on the blade, and the exterior seems 100%. But I have never seen such a glaring typo on a blade. Thoughts? I can post additional photos of the piece, if need be.

You know, you do make an outstanding point. It seems weird they would have an anniversary for their business, and celebrate it with miniatures, several years AFTER the dagger was developed. I think then, we may have a regular miniature that has been "upgraded" with a fake blade. Has anybody else ever seen this blade etch on a miniature before? This was sent in with a large consignment for our upcoming auction. Most of the items were real, but there were several old fakes in the group, which consisted of just about everything ... uniforms, medals, daggers, visors, etc.

I think whoever did the etching must have copied the name from some scribbled note. It hurts my tongue trying to pronounce 'Prfusse' which is obviously wrong and should be 'Preusse'. There should be a way to have this fixed.

We will just auction it off as-is, with disclosure as to the blade issue.
