    German Army Officers Dagger

    Hi,

I came into possession of this dagger in 2005, I was 18 and my friends mom worked at a Value Village in Ottawa, Canada, sorting goods that came into the store. This dagger was found in a shoebox donated to the store, with an original copy of mein kampf. My friend kept the book and his mom gave me the dagger.

I'm posting the dagger here for more information. And, I don't want to sell, but I am curious of the value. This one of the few TR items I currently own.

Thanks guys - it was a lucky find. I collect mostly WW2 USMC stuff, but this dagger is nice to have and something I probably wouldn't have bought otherwise. Any more info would be awesome, approximate time of manufacture if a late WKC?

Nice original dagger.'It's an issue in cast zinc-pott metal.Does the dagger has a maker mark on the reverse of the blade ?

As Tobau says, is there a WKC maker mark on the blade? Looks all WKC except that the scabbard was made by Eickhorn, no worries though, the single screw typical of WKC is in place and these two makers traded parts throughout the war. This is most probably a 40' - 42' made dagger. Nice complete set! Kevin.

I hope this lucky find spurs you on to develop an interest in the WW II period. Knowledge, for the most part, is sadly lacking in todays youth group with the de-emphasis on teaching history in schools.
This was the main point in history it the 20th Century for much of the World. If your interest should develop you'll find much information and assistance right here on this forum. Good luck!
