SS M33 Portepee Opinions Please..........

Well Ive had this dagger for a long time and always wondered about the "unusual" portepee it came with . The portepee and vertical hanger both show substantial wear patterns on the dagger indicating that theyve been there for a long time . As you can see the portepee has dark streaks in it that I dont recall ever seeing before . Does this have any significance ? Thanks .

Just a manufacturer variation, I think nothing more.

I think these are a variation army portepee, I have had a number of these over the years.

Agreed...I have one on a vet-purchased Army dagger. Interesting - and very good-looking - variation, but I don't know of any significance beyond that.

Not sure why there is a knot on a 1933 SS dagger, put I agree it does appear to have been there for a long time
