I'm not really up to speed on the Imperial pieces, but it looks like you've got a model 1889 Prussian Infantry Officer sword. The knots appear to be Third Reich era Police officer sword knots, most likely picked up by the vet or the collector and added because they looked like they went on the sword. The knots are worth about $50.00 each. A cursory look through the latest catalogs was in order and Johnson shows an 89 Infantry officer sword on his latest list for $495.00, while Wittmann features one with a Damascus blade on his latest list for $995.00. As you can see, the Damascus blade adds considerably to the value. What type of blade does your sword have?

If you are finding many of the Imperial pieces through your ads, you should invest in a copy of the Johnson & Wittmann reference on Imperial edged weapons. In addition, I can't imagine not receiving their sales catalogs. Even if you never purchase from them (which I find difficult to avoid!) they are real bargains when you consider the information offered - to include current pricing. I find myself referring to them constantly.

Hope your sword has the Damascus blade!

Nope, it has a Double Fluted,

No Sir: It has a "Plain Jane", double fluted blade. It is pretty nice, but nothing out of the ordinary. Thanks for the info!
