Looks to be the real thing. Your pictures are lacking however. One of it in scabbard, One of it out, beside scabbard..etc. Close ups of Eagle area, handle etc.( Scabbard bands area) As i said looks to be real, has hangers and portee...you could do worse.

Thanks Doug. These are the only pictures that I have at the moment. One interesting point is that it is advertised as having a plain pommel instead of the usual acorn patterned on, but if you look at the partial picture of this, it does seem to have bthe usual acorn pattern.
              Thanks,
              Peter.

                WMW is Waffen Max Weyersberg.

This is the most commonly found TM for Max Weyersberg. That being said, I don't think that this is a prolific maker of Heers (or Luft2s). Maybe an Army guy could chime into the rarity or scarcity of this maker mark?

WMW is uncommon, but not rare. This is the most common variation of the makers mark. I don't know if I would call it rare, but I have a couple of armies with the trademark perpendicular on the blade.
I agree this one looks original.

I agree with Phil that it is not a commonly found maker. This one is a decent example.

Original, pommel and crossguard correct for WMW. The scabbard throat was normally retained by two
dome head side screws. It is presumed that WMW purchased scabbards from other makers occassionally.

Thanks John, Phil, Frank and David.
I will make further enquiries about the pommel, which is obscured by the portpee, since the description states that it is plain and not acorn patterned.

Looks like a nice rig. Correct WMW all the way, even the scabbard is the one most seen with this maker along with some generic types. Kevin.

                            Thanks Kevin,
I have now found out that the pommel cap is of the usual acorn pattern as it looks in the picture. The scabbard screws look as if they might be of the domehead variety, but it is difficult to say exactly from the picture.
