    Diplo dagger

A good friend of mine is offered this dagger. Is it a good one, and what would be a good price?

The cross-guard gives me pause. I really can't comment unless I see and hold it. Good Luck though.....

Any disassembled pictures? They would help....good luck, though.

It is not a Diplo dagger, but a GO. It looks like a good one to me. DO NOT DISASSEMLE THE DAGGER. These daggers are best left alone. The top of the eagles wings seem to have received some kind of damage, but the dagger including the blade is in great condition. A straight on shot of the crossguard would be helpful.

              Gentlemen,

Looking at pictures online doesn't really provide an opportunity to evaluated a particular piece. We know early war and late war daggers are different. We know post-war daggers were assembled with original parts. I find it extremely hard to offer an opinion based on a picture.

Several "prime" daggers were assembled post-war for sale. It's a fact.

Many daggers were "repaired" with on-hand parts. Are they "real"?

Just enjoy your hobby. There are very few experts in regards to daggers. I believe all of the polishers and grinders are dead.

Yet, we have more experts everyday....go figure.....

                GO's dagger

Typical GO's dagger by Alcoso with the often seen detail issues in the swastika area. 100% original .... and do not dismantle!!

excellent untouched GO dagger. Do not dismantle it.
Lack of welding quality is not a problem.
Nice dagger expensive to buy, a little bit difficult to sell

Any further opinions if the Ring on the Picture is repaired?

                            GO Dagger

This is very typical of the quality seen on some Alcoso Government Official's daggers. It looks 100% original! The scabbard flaw is minor compared to what you often see with their poor crossguard swastika wreath detail!
