Good afternoon fellows. I need some help identifying this Troddel. I believe that this is for a bayonet and not a dagger, and the leather strap identifies it to Motorized. Any assistance would be appreciated.

The leather straps are OD green in color.

This knot is the standard knot issued to the Luftwaffe NCO.

They are common knots. Nothing special. I have one with a Luftwaffe marking on the strap.

Hi Dave,

You're right, there is a similar knot with a green strap that was worn by some Heer units. Yours looks like it has a grey strap for Luftwaffe use however. As Alain said, they're fairly common an would be appropriate for a bayonet with a brown Luftwaffe frog.
