WW1 German trench knife

Hi Guys,
Thought you would like to see this German trench knife that has been in the family since WW1. Nice to know the history if nothing else!
Now get ready for this It was my fathers second wifes first husbands fathers He brought it back from the great war.

Thanks for sharing. It is a beaut.! I have one of the standard wood handled ones with the metal scabbard. Not as fancy as this. And the etching on the blade just gives you that warm and fuzzy feeling.

I've seen this knife in the books, but not with an etching like that. Like to know if there are any others out there??

Hi Brian,

I've seen this type of knife with etchings, but they were of 'flags' This one is a definite linked to the First World War.
