Details on this sword are not the best, so I am not sure about it. Let see what other people say.

Improvements? Complete with waffenamt stamp, matching unit stamps on sword and scabbard? Who is making these? I'd like to buy one...

DTS, there is also a Waffenamt stamp under the handguard. Damasco, what are the details on this that show it to be a fake? I would appreciate clarification. I have over 40 Heeres officer swords in my collection and a few of them don't have the workmanship that this sword has.

DTS, Perhaps your desire to purchase one of these swords can be granted. A somewhat more elaborate version of the sword is posted above with an artificial Damascus blued and gilt enhanced blade. And the same supposed Ostsee property marking of "O. 836". A rather remarkable coincidence is it not?? Are there some variations we just have not seen yet?

I will see if I still have the images I had of the 'plain jane' bladed versions of the sword that were offered a while back on eBay. My personal belief is that they are being modified in Germany for the "collector market". But that is just my opinion until some hard data is developed one way or the other. FP

Hello: PzV There are many problems with the sword. You are not the 1st (collector) to be fooled by these!!!!!!! I do not wish to list them as it will only help the fakers... But these swords have been turning up for the last 5 years at least. They are on e-bay in the U.S. etc....And have been topics on the forums many times. The scabbard, etch, handle, castings, finish, stampings, are just a few (general) things wrong...The picture is from a CURRENT English website were the plain unetched are sold (they do have all the (issue) stamps) (waffenamt etc!!!!) here is also website were unetched they sell for 139. English Pounds : Sorry it is not the real deal ....Lakeside trader has a nice (orginal) Houster navy on his website. Here also is the website were they sell this crap!!!!!!
