        An old guy had one at a gun show just like yours, He said he brought it back from ww2..I really didn't want to say anything to start a fight

                Thanks guys but I know its post war. My question was when were these produced ie 50s, 60s, 70s ?

                Its very well made and I cant find another like it with the red and white diamond and would like to know what the red and white signifies.

                Was its used for a boyscout type thing or just a selling point.

                  Made in the late 1950s from left over parts and sold in military surplus stores in the US. One in my own home town is where I saw them and bought mine. Available in Popular Mechanics and Argosy magazine from time to time in the late 1950s.

                    I see these at antique shows in Michigan and Ohio from time to time.I agree that they are 1950's/60's .
