naval dagger, damascus blade + ivory grip

Dear collector friends,
I´m searching a nice naval dagger. Now it seems that I have found one.
It´s a very nice dagger with a damascus blade an ivory grip and a hammered scabbard. It comes with golden knot and tombak hangers. The blade has initials of his owner. There are also some documents that proof the provenance of this dagger. Initials and name on the documents are matching.
Please help in question of this daggers value.
I have seen one on wittman for 6300 US$ and I have seen one on johnson for 8500 US$. There is a big difference in price but I don´t know why?

Whittmann's is a better dagger for the price and all things considered IMHO.

On Damascus daggers dealers in the past have put on 'telephone numbers' on a price tag, and many times getting it.
It's a different world now.

You also have to be very careful, there are a lot of Navy daggers floating around with post-war Damascus blades mounted in original daggers.
