Antique Damascus Blade Dagger

I was hoping some of you blade guys can help me out with this on. Handle looks like bone with blue spots. All silver caps and crossgaurd. Blade is damascus and sheath is wood.

Any ideas?? I was thinking 19th century Sheffield???

I'm thinking this was expensive when made.

Sheffield doesn't have a history of damascus forging. Late 19th Sheffield was establishing itself as a maker of high quality steel at the time. If I remember right it was a form of crucible steel referred to as 'silver' steel. Maybe someone can help out here as I don't have my references easily available at the moment.

The damascus pattern looks to be far east in origin. Possibly fairly current (last 20 years or so). The scabbard is not consistant with 19th century English make. No metal fittings at throat or tip given the fittings on the hilt.

Just some thoughts.

Tony you hit it right on the head.. It is for sure without a doubt current Indian production blade. The rest??? It has had a new blade added.
