did the Germans "ever" chrome bayonet scabbards?

I am sure this is a dumb question, and assume the answer is no.

But... I bought this bayonet from a WWII veteran that swears he found it this way during the war. It also has odd looking bakelite grips.

I think that the bling factor only belonged to the Americans.

German haven't chromed scabbards and K98 bayonets. On your bayonet, the woodden grips are not original.
