    Estate Items Today

Got these today at a estate auction.

    1. Miniature Navy Dagger. 7 1/2" long.
Has "KHD" on one side and "25.2.39" on the other.
Anybody tell me about these markings? Also, a ball-park value?

    2. Hitler Youth Dagger - Looks like CARL HEPPELBERG?. I couldn't find this maker mark in my books. Is it scarce or common.

IMO the condition of these is going to hurt the value - yes that is a rarer maker on the HJ - but the fact the blade is so poor will influence the price more then the maker.

    Just my thoughts!

It does not look to be Heppelberg to me. I think it's the standard Carl Heidelberg logo.

      Regards,

That's definitely the logo of Carl Heidelberg.

I'd say the Navy miniature's markings are the initials of the person who presented the dagger on one side and those of the recipient on the other.

The date, 25 February 1939, is the date of presentation. The occasion could be a birthday, officer's school graduation, promotion, retirement, launch of a ship, etc etc.

I would guess K.H.L. is the person who gave the dagger to U. H.
