Hi Alex,

This piece would be after 1936.
I see what you mean with the crossguard to scabbard fit. It is not as good as you would see on an earlier piece but is hard to say whether perhaps the scabbard has been swapped at some stage (although it is the correct scabbard for the dagger) or if it is the correct one .
Is the dagger tight going into the scabbard or does it feel right.

thanks for your reply, I appreciate it.
The dagger fit's right in the scabbard, nice and tight just as you want to see it, it's just the "poor fit" which concerned me a bid.

Although I just looked at quite a few late period SA's here at the WAF and I've seen even worse fit examples....
