    Early Armies

When I first started collecting, I could care less about any Army dagger as they were way to numerous and seemed to be found everywhere . It wasn't until Witty wrote his 1st reference in 1995, did collectors learn the differences within these 3rd Reich mass produced edged weapon, and started identifying them according to the time frame that they were produced. We were introduced to terms like: silver over brass fittings, tapered tangs, slant grips, & 14 leaf pommels. It didn't take long for collectors and dealers alike to realize what they had in their collection, or were selling. It isn't any wonder that these desirable early silver examples like this WKC, are seen less and less in the market place today.
