    Bavarian Police short sword?

Guys can you help me out. I purchased what I believe is a Imperial Bavarian short sword. I have attached a few photos. Can you guys possibly pin down a correct period, is it Pre WWI? Does it have a certain model or name?
    Thank you for the help.

More Pictures. I also forgot to mention it has "In Treue Fest" on the blade.

      Kevin,

Well you're right that it's definitely Bayern with the "In Treue Fest" motto on the blade. It looks to me to be a Polizei short sword but I'll wait to hear what Schupo will have to say on the subject.

2 questions, how long is the blade & what is the maker mark (if any)?

Yes, it is a Bavarian Polizei sword for NCOs. The guard is damaged, which in turn has buckled the backstrap. I hope this is helpful. We can help you date it better by the style of the maker marking.
