I am thinning down my WWII collection. I purchased this bayonet some years ago at an estate sale.
The bluing is in excellent condition arounf 90 to 95% remaining on bayonet around 75 to 80% on the scabbard. The bayonet and the scabbard are mismatched and the blade appears to be period sharpened. It sill retains a very nice original 1941 dated frog.
From my understanding, Herder marked combat bayonets are uncommon.
I am considering putting it up on the E-stand for sale or trade. Can someone give me a ballpark value?
