SS dagger - conversion to partisan knife!

My friend has found this SS dagger. As you can see, it´s in poor condition and it´s handle was redesigned by new owner. I don´t know why didn´t he removed SS mark on the handle too.

    Unfortunately, pictures are bad!

My Dad had a chained SS that partisans used. They removed eagle and remove the motto of the blade. But they also left runes on it.
    Rare find.

While my first reaction is upon reflection it really is an interesting piece, a real piece of history hear that while not pretty, is most assuredly fascinating in its own right.
        Cheers,
        Eric

Wow, hurts to look at that, but interesting for sure.

Is strange why they kept the ruins, I would imagine they had some grudging respect for ruthlessness, and wanted to emulate some of it in their own battles.

                    Servus, Manfred !

As I wrote elsewhere, all is possible, but it´s a "Question of faith" !

I´m sure you know the maker, (Klittermann & Moog).
Typical for this maker is the exclamation mark.

                    Rgds.,

Thanks so much for sharing this bit of history.
I really like these. This was a SS shown here a couple years ago that had the eagle replaced with a red enameled star. Reminds me of what you showed here.
I know that these type pieces are not for everyone but truly they speak to history.
