    Frog Review

Can anyone tell me what this oversized frog is for ?
Is it for a hewer or maybe a Butcher bayonet ?
It is 34 marked on the back. I used a dress bayo for comparison to see the size, much larger the a 98K bayo frog.

My first thought was for the 98/05 bayonet. Actually I'm pretty sure the frog for the Red Cross EM & the 98/05 are the same size.

                      Hello

This frog is for a WWI 98/05 bayonet.
                      Regards
                      Alain

My first inclination was that it was a DRK hewer frog but this piece looks brown, not black. Then I thought Imperial 98/05 because of the size & overall construction. But what about the "34" on the reverse? We've seen early police frogs that are date marked in the reverse. Is it possible this is a NS zeit frog?

                            Hi Billy,
I think it's definately possible this is from the NS zeit. I once had a 98/05 frog that was RLM marked and dated. Can't remember for sure, but think it was '38 or '39. However it was brown on front and back.
