The etch looks to be photo etched. The border of the design at the spine and edge of the blade is overly thick or wide.

Have to agree with all above. The etch is definitely post-war and quite poorly done. It's missing the details and major parts of what the original etch would have. Overall, an OK bayonet ruined by a bogus etch.
