    German bayonet help

    Hello forum...

I need some help on this bayonet. I don't recognize it.

The scabbard is very poor, and the release button is missing.

They are mailing a helmet to me today... and said I can have this for $100 bucks more.

    should I go for it?

    thanks for the help. Robert

      Hello Robert,

Perhaps it's just me but I don't see any photos. Regardless, if it's an S84/98 that you refer to then I'd pass it by given the condition you describe as they are plentiful and inexpensive.

Obviously if it's not that model then my remarks don't necessarily apply.

      Regards,
      Stu

I'd like to see a larger photo - as a tentative identification I think it could be a Wurttemburg Pioneerfaschinenmesser M/71. If so, a very rare bayonet.

As I've never seen one for sale, it is very difficult to comment on the value especially without the release mechanism.

            Regards

            Richie

                              Thanks for the great photos.

I don't think it's a "pioneer" since those are usually sawbacks?
