Simply put, there is nothing that I like about this dagger. The Hilt looks 100% wrong in a multitude of ways.

IMO the dagger looks to have a certain amount of wear and aging overall, but the wooden handle doesn't seem to show the same characteristics. The SS emblem looks to be well placed, but the eagle placement looks to be crudely done. I realize SS Daggers are getting more scarce and the prices are getting to be astronomical. However, I know you want to get a SS Dagger at a fair value. Perhaps I'm being too critical on this piece.

I could only afford one 1933 SS Dagger which I bought about 15 years ago for $800.00 and the SS emblem and eagle have no gaps. There are others site members who have a huge collection of SS Daggers, so you may want to wait until some of them chimes in with their expertise...

      Kind Regards,
      Don_

I think this one has been restored using parts from different daggers. Even the scabard rivets have different shapes.

It looks like as a parts dagger. Probably only emblem and the blade are from SS here. The scabbard was after repair , the eagle was replacement, and the grip maybe repainted from SA. I would consider it as a parts.

            It only your conjectures!
Scabbard is not repainted, maybe small pots on scabbard with new paint
Grip not replaced from SA - it's original with SS rune
            Eagle maybe replaced

All parts is original SS parts dagger

I think i would have to agree on a parts dagger also the blade looks real but highly buffed and polished as already stated but the crossguard to grip fit and eagle placement leave alot to be desired and i would certainly assume that it didnt leave the factory this way!! although i am no expert on these daggers i do have one by the same maker thats been okeyed previously so will post a few pics of it for comparison.

                Regards Adam

beautiful dagger......just look at the discussed one after and you'll see somethings wrong! I would agree these are conjectures but you can not be 100% sure about anything in this hobby! That said, this dagger is not for me and shouldnt be for anyone at that price.

What stands out the most is that the piece exhibits plenty of wear with the exception of the grip. The blade has been heavily over polished, the scabbard shows it has been banged around, the crossguards are flaking, yet somehow the wood came through without a scratch. Added to that the fact that it obviously doesn't fit the crossguards I can't help but conclude that it's a replacement.

Whether the grip is an original period item I don't know. As good as it looks, whatever dagger it originally came from must be excellent as well, so why swap parts ? I almost hate to say it, but it really looks like one one of those lone bogus grips we see for sale with the RZM tag.

So overall, probably several real parts here, but Henckels wouldn't have let it go from the factory looking like this.

I like the blade only,as i wrote in the other thread.

                      Handle&crossguards looks not from period,

                      just my opinion.

                      @Adam,

That grip didn't come with that dagger.
Also, eagle seems replaced, en scabbard repainted IMHO.
No crossgraining left on that blade

                        Regards, Rob.

                          Dagger

This dagger has had the handle replaced and eagle replaced with touch up and stain to blend in the gap , the scabbard has been either repainted all together or touched up . Not a dagger i would want in my collection or as an investment . This is one of those daggers the a newbe would not look to close at and buy just because it is ss . All in all a very questionable dagger.
