My favorite - perhaps not exclusively a TR period dagger - is the Forestry dagger. Can't beat those beautiful etched blades.

        The Lofty Luft

Liftoff for me is the 1st model Luftwaffe dagger in a well preserved state.
It's simplistic yet elegant design exudes taste in the finer things in life just as it's ReichMarshall
did. Along with it's accoutrements in tow it's in a class all by itself.

I like so many TR models! The first I recall seeing, my reaction being "I gotta get me one of these" was the 1st Model Luft! That dagger struck me as having so much class. daniel tarr817j

I'm not sure what this poll is designed to measure; is it intended that each respondent choose which organization he is akin to, or is it intended that each respondent choose a particular style of dagger? For me, the answer to that question is key to the kind of response I would make.

In the matter of style of dagger, I would need to know:
              * RAD Hewer: officer's or first model/enlisted type?
              * Do you mean first model/enlisted SA, SS or NSKK or chained?
              * Which Luft model: 1st or 2nd model?
              * Do you include Diplomatic Corps along with Government Officials...not quite the same!

              Cheers,

              Br. James

Fantastic piece! When I look at daggers like this I always wonder why the SS dagger is the most popular....

Mine was awarded to the top Navy Officer Rifle Shot. It is in Wittmann's Navy Dagger Book.

I am not a dagger collector, but I certainly am impressed by the examples posted in this thread. For me, the one model that has always "caught my eye" is the NPEA dagger; probably for its plain basic appearance.

I want to change my vote. IT is at LW but now like the SA best.

                              SS Muller Prototype

Let me start by Saying when I started collecting I was 9 Years old....Back then Info was Impossible to Locate...I mean IMPOSSIBLE you went to shows and bought the Available reference material...Back then I got the complete Johnson series at the time 4 Volumes...I remember seeing the SS Muller Prototype and Drooling over it. As a Kid and Completely Naive I was in Heaven seeing this....Then 30 years later We find out that these have been outed as Fakes....My Trust in these dealers is Gone..Wittman and Johnson Both its became clear just followed the money and were nothing but Great salesmen. Had a Chance to meet TJ at a Max show when it was in Indy...I wasn't impressed. Anyways My Favorites a Good old Forgery.

                                Least favorite dagger

There is no thread for this so I'll post it here. My least favorite dagger is the SA dagger. Everyone is looking for "variations and rare makers". Of course there are variations with 3 million produced. To me it's just a way to boost prices up for a common dagger.
