    Well I know nothing about RAD's at all, but the excellent close up pics would say this is period etch, far too precise and perfectly executed to be postwar IMO.

    If fakers can produce etches of that quality today then we are in trouble, don't get me wrong, the day will come and future collectors will get stung in the butt, however I don't think we're quite there yet and I do believe that the next generation of collectors need to be getting wised up on the finest of finest details that will preserve the integrity of the hobby for genuine collectors of genuine TR militaria so that the real stuff is not compromised by superfakes.

      The etch looks fine, I see no red flags at all. In fact the current laser etched mottos are too crisp and perfect, you actually want to see slight roughness and imperfections to the acid cut, but I agree, the fakers do still have a way to go...
