    K98 cavalry field bayonet question.

    Hello, i am interested in this bayonet, but i dont know so much about bayonets, and i will apreciate if any of you could tell me any information about this one here in special, is it a german WW2?or is it a reworked piece?and why does it says it is a field bayonet?and if you know more about this bayonet, please tell me .

    Hello,

    Bayo is a German S84/98 made in 1941 by E. & F. Horster & Cie. Looks to be in good shape. Scabbard is correct for that bayo. Too bad it does not have the matching serial number. You might want to ask Klaus if those grips have been off or replaced. In case you don't know this , he is a member here and a great guy to deal with.

    PS: By "field" I think he means combat as opposed to dress.

      Yes there should be not wood grips, so the piece is reworked, maybe the blueing is too new?
