    NPEA from Family

What you think about this one, especially about the blade?
It's coming out from a vet family, the scabbard is not the right one but belongs to this dagger since the GI brought it back. No markings on the cross guard.

It has a chance to be OK, but in case of Napola daggers the internal markings are the key. Burgsmüller daggers come with certain crossguards and certain tang markings. No original scabbard, so one helpful feature less. Anyway I like the blade.

          Robert,

This dagger could very well be period as most fake blades we see have the earlier Bergsmüller mark. Better pictures might help but I would feel better seeing the tang marks & if there are any marks inside the crossguards. Even if this piece is original, the sad fact is you'll be very hard pressed to find an original NPEA replacement scabbard. That alone would keep most people away from this one.

For sure an original dagger even from the photos, a busy hunt for many.
