A. Schuttelhofer 2nd model luft?

I just bought a handful of daggers from an older collector and this was in the lot. From what I have read, it is kinda scarce, but advice from some of the members here would be wonderful.

It is a A. Schuttelhoffer 2nd model luftwaffe dagger. The photos show it with the knot, but it had the hanger too.

How hard to find are 2nd models by Schuttelhoffer? I am by no means knowledable about German daggers so any help would be greatly appreciated.

here is the mark, and when the grip was removed to get a better shot, there was a little "+" sign inside a box. I'm not sure what that signifies.

A scarce maker but not rare the dagger looks to be in good condition and with any dagger the blade condition is very important. The mark on the blade tang is from the drop forging process and an identifying mark of a particular drop forger. This mark is commonly seen on blades from small cottage makers.Schuttelhoffer did not make their own blades or parts and are usually fitted with generic type parts.

I agree, I had a same maker second luft before and it also had that mark on tang.

No problems with originality here. Dagger is in a decent shape but far from being "mint", mainly because of visible scratches on the blade. Unless you're "minty blade fanatic", you can keep it, the dagger is OK.
