The second model with black/blue handle is known as a funeral. But I saw few period pics here on forum of luft. officers wearing them.

Dealer hyped up rubbish, no such thing as a 'funeral' dagger, Klass had some black trolon which they used up for 2nd Luft grips, they 'painted' them white and over the years the paint flaked off and gave rise to the 'funeral dagger' story, a story seized on by dealers in order to hike up the price.

Many will have traces of white paint under the grip wire, some have lots of white paint left, but they were never intended for any other use than standard dress dagger. Some collectors are willing to pay the increase in price that dealers ask and as they are much rarer than the normal coloured grips, so perhaps the extra can be justified that way, personally I would not be up for paying 3/4 or 5 times as much just for a black grip.
Genuine ones will be either unmarked or Klass
