Heer Knots? Lenght?

I have had both of these knots for awhile and I've always wondered the difference in length? The short one is 11" and the other one is about 20". Can anyone tell me what they might go to? I believe that one is a dagger knot.

The long Portepee would go on an Army dagger while the short one would go on an Air Force dagger.

The Luft knot has some "memory" in the cord while the Heer knot looks to have never been on a dagger.
I like to match knots on like-conditioned daggers so both of these would need to go with stone mint examples.

Thanks everyone for you help. It was the short one that was throwing me for a loop. I scratched my head for awhile before I decided to throw it up.
