What is this? Boot or fighting knife perhaps

Hi Gentlemen

I found this at the back of a drawer in my Grandfather's desk which I have had since the 70s!!!

Can you tell me what it is?

Where can I fond out more about this type of knife?

These daggers are not my thing so it will be heading straight to the estand. Any idea on price would be much appreciated.

The marks are very faded. on one side what looks like a Germanic D and on the other a Z inside a crowned shield.

It is German WWI fighting knife. It is missing a leather hanger on the scabbard. It looks like it got a lot of use. I do not know what the Z stands for, but one of the other guys who collect fighting knives would know.

The Z in a shield trademark is that of Clemen und Jung.

As this fighting knife is well used I thought that a fair price to ask on the estand would be US$75

Does that make sense or is it way out?

Last few that sold on estand were for 150 and 175(in much better shape) so I think that 75 is honest.
