Is it a blued blade? Like the K98 bayonets? Never saw such a blade

It's still a nice fantasy dagger, would not break it up.

                Best Regards,

all in all a nice looking piece ,even being blued.
IF you parted it out & sold the "unwanted" parts, the nexy person would just tear apart a good dagger to remake this one. just leave it be , looks very nice, beautifull center piece.

Thanks for the opinions, but we're all OK ...

                    Not a period "customized" dagger

Gilded motto and markings, blued blade... = post war.

Agree, post war. Blued blade is what has convinced me about it. Period "tunings" are acceptable and found from time to time, but I simply don't believe any SA-men after engraving the crossguards and gilding the motto would blue the blade like that making his dagger look kitschy.

The blade appears to be niter or heat blued, which just everyone is not set up to do. You can bet the blade wasn't blued by Bubba.
                        Looks nice anyway.

i`ve seen this appearance of bluing before on post war souped up sa`s , and i think one of the ref books mentions . the blade has been heavily silver plated , then patina added (sulphur trick ) and you get a dark blue/black finish , where the scabbard runner marks are it wears off down to silver . prob it would easy clean off , but looks good.
